To fully express the rebellious elegance of YSL leather, Master Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin has selected “a true gem”. Extracted from 80-year-old trees using traditional methods, this priceless oud has leathery, animalic, elegant, woody and ambery facets. “Because I was born in Grasse, I have a special relationship with natural ingredients,” he explains, “and I am always seeking out new olfactory profiles.
When I first discovered it years ago, oud was a true revelation. For me, it is the woody note of tomorrow.” With Cuir, he has given the classic ingredient a strikingly edgy twist, matching it with a wholly unexpected partner: violet leaf. “The texture and patina of oud are lightened and enhanced by the violet leaf note, whose natural green sensation is tinged with floral softness,” Fabrice Pellegrin explains.
Strikingly elegant, modern, Cuir feels just as sleek, tough and sexy as a sharply tailored black leather blazer or trench.
