On that day, she began the tradition of carrying myrtle in the royal bride's bouquet. Using a cutting from her own bouquet, she planted a garden of myrtle bushes on the east facade of Fulham Palace. Since then, every bride in the family line has incorporated myrtle in some form in her bouquet.
